Our Badlands Bead Strand is inspired by our Badlands Beading Design Challenge Kit but it is not included in the kit. You can find this bead strand on our website, exclusively.
Badlands are the ghosts of ancient mesas and plateaus. This land was once flat and unremarkable. Time and erosion have sheared the soil into steep ravines and gullies. Some cliff spires withstood the savages and tower up with earthen capstones topping the soft eroded soil below. Hoodoos reach for the sky like celestial totems. Rich colored clay adds an eerie essence, it paints the canyon walls in banded tapestries. Badlands take their name from French fur traders and Lakota people. These are bad lands to travel. The goblin shaped towers and unfriendly climbs do not welcome wheels or tired feet. The badlands keep the wanderers away and in doing so, we are gifted a view of prehistoric beauty that will survive the ages.
