Crimping Pliers. There are so many to choose from these days! Here at Soft Flex, we currently offer four crimping pliers. Which ones do you need in your jewelry making kit and which ones are not meant for you? Read on and we will let you know what we suggest.
All crimping pliers are not created equally. There are job specific crimpers and size specific crimpers. Some are meant for the tiniest crimps and some are perfect for finishing a multi-strand necklace.

Crimping Pliers
This old chap is the grandfather of crimping tools. Simple and elegant. It crimps your tubes or beads. It puts a divot in the crimp tube and then rounds the crimp. If you do not like the look of your finished crimp, you can conceal it with a crimp cover. This pair of regular crimping pliers is a versatile no-frills tool. It gets the job finished securely.

Regular Crimping Pliers are a must have tool for compressing 2x2mm or 2x3mm crimps. Regular Crimping Pliers allow for your design to be secure with a crimp bead that looks and feels smooth. Micro Crimping Pliers
This beautiful baby may be small, but it gets the job. Micro Crimping Pliers are designed to finish the smallest crimps. You will not have any luck trying to finish 1x1mm crimps with any other pair of crimping pliers we carry. The head on these crimping pliers is small enough to accommodate the tiniest crimps and close them securely.

Mighty Crimping Pliers
Just look at the size of this brute. What an absolute unit! This monster can tackle our biggest crimps. The holes on the head of these crimping pliers can take on BIG crimps. The crimping hole and round hole are massive.

Mighty Crimping Pliers are fantastic for size 3x3mm crimps and larger! The Mighty Crimper has a larger crimping hole and rounding hole for bigger jobs. The Mighty Crimper is your best bet for connecting a multiple strand design to a single strand clasp.

Magical Crimping Pliers
This pair of crimping pliers is a wizard. Magical Crimping Pliers can turn a normal crimp tube into a rounded bead with a few crimps. It is definitely a magical way to complete your design. You can even crimp tubes into spacer beads on your illusion necklaces. Sara has some great videos demonstrating how she crimps her tubes into spacers on YouTube. We recommend using .019 diameter beading wire. These crimping pliers only work with 2x2mm crimps.

Magical Crimping Pliers are the next generation of crimping tools. If you use crimp covers to conceal a finished crimp, you will love Magical Crimping Pliers. Magical Crimping Pliers will turn an ordinary crimp tube into a finished, rounded, bead. A beautiful end to any design.
Here is the secret: regular crimping pliers have two holes, a crimping hole to place a divot in the crimp and a rounding hole to finish. Magical Crimping Pliers have a single rounding hole. This hole rounds any 2x2mm tube into a rounded bead. This quick rounding method eliminates the need for a crimp cover.
Magical Crimping Pliers are for beginner beaders and seasoned artists alike. Easy to learn and quick to master. At Soft Flex Company, we always suggest using high quality wire and crimps, such as our Soft Flex Wire and our crimps (which are seamless and thick-walled). Choosing a budget wire and crimps might not have the same strength and finish.
