Make A Bracelet Using TierraCast Ring Connectors In 2 Different Sizes
Hip, hip hooray, Kit Day landed on Wednesday, this week! I opened up the Purple Polka Dot Design Kit (Sold Out). It was based on Purple, Black and White Polka Dots by artist Yayoi Kusama (Google images of her work). Each month we have a new kit based on a new theme. This year, we are mixing in a few art masterpiece themes as our inspiration. According to Wikipedia, Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese contemporary artist who works primarily in sculpture and installation, but is also active in painting, performance, film, fashion, poetry, fiction, and other arts. We just fell in love with her fun designs.
Pictured above, you can see everything that was in this kit. Unfortunately, this kit sold out in about a week. But, you can always check out our next kit which is listed in our kit category! Remember, there is a new kit based on a new theme every single month.
I love the hammered rings from TierraCast - so I was keen to use them in my design. I decided to create connectors using Soft Flex Beading Wire by attaching the wire to each ring using crimp tubes.
During the process, I realized that it would be fun to connect my lobster clasp right to the ring. Clasps don't always have to go in the back! They can go anywhere that makes the most sense in your design. Sometimes that is on the side or even up front.
I love how this bracelet turned out. A friend on Facebook suggested that I make them in several colors and stack them together. I'd love to see this design in more colors. I may have to try that when I can get my hands on more rings.
On the last Wednesday of the month, I reveal the latest kit and make something. So if you are brand new to jewelry design or just need a little inspiration, you can always tune in and get a tutorial that goes right along with the kit that you purchased. Then, the following Saturday, we post another tutorial on our YouTube channel.
We know that not everyone participates in Facebook. So we post exclusive content on YouTube too.
Beading is a great hobby that doesn't require a lot of time or money. Start up cost is minimal. Just grab a kit, some crimping pliers and cutters and you are ready to go! After making a bracelet and necklace, I still have so many beads and supplies left to use from this kit!
I love these little tassel earrings. I hope that you love them too.
Grab our next kit to join in the fun! Best of all, we have a beautiful community of beaders that share their work using these kits in our Soft Flex Company VIB Studio Facebook Group. You can see what dozens of other people made with this same kit and others by joining!
