Tomorrow is Kit Day! If you are unfamiliar, Kit Day is a Soft Flex Company holiday. It is the day we release our newest jewelry making kit and unbox our last, live on Facebook. On our social media, our friends post their finished designs and we get to look at the gorgeous jewelry everybody has created. Today we are looking at our recent Halloween inspired design kit. Spider Queen is the spookiest collection of beading supplies of the year. Inside was a mix of elegant and gothic beads with a sprinkle of childhood fun.

Embrace this festive day of ghoulies and grumpkins! This kit was brainstormed by our resident Spider Queen - Kristen. She created a spider queen costume one year and each following holiday, it has become more and more elaborate.

Our kits are great for skill building. We want our kits to feel challenging. We want them to be accessible for beginners and advanced designers alike, but we love to throw in elements that may seem difficult to test our beaders skills and make them think out of the box. We think jewelry is great when it is easy. But when you really have to engage your mind and process your materials and tools, we think that your jewelry has the potential to be life changing.
Our kits may be inspired by a colorway or theme, but they are meant to be creative interpretations. Imagination and innovation do not follow the rules. Expect the unexpected.

Thunder shakes the throne room and a shadow descends from the high dome above. The titan widow plunges down in a magnificent column of spider silk and crypt dust. She lands with the tiny taps of arachnid paws on tile. The sound echoes in the breathless chamber. Lightning flashes and the queen changes form. She is human, cloaked in black dress and gossamer web. Spiderlings dance on her shoulders. This frightful monarch is here to spread Halloween cheer. Do you dare accept her dark offerings?

Our Free Spirit Beading host is also the Soft Flex Spider Queen. Each Halloween, Kristen dresses up as the monarch of our eight-legged friends. This queen's finery requires elegant and frightening jewelry accessories and Kristen is always willing to make something that weaves some magic.

VIB is a great place to visit. It is an online bead gathering. It is a place to chat and meet new friends. It is a great way to stay social. You can learn a new tip or technique daily. You can get inspired by the gorgeous jewelry designs other people in the community post. You can also get your own jewelry gently critiqued if you want pointers on how to make your designs really stand out. We love wallflowers and chatty designers alike. Lurk or showcase your talent.
