Part One - Braiding Beading Wire and Illusion Jewelry
On Spill the Beads with Joyce Trowbridge, we got a special two part series. She showed us how to make a necklace using multiple techniques and then finish a design with a handmade bail. In this first video, Joyce shows us how to braid Soft Flex Beading Wire. This will give a design a fun texture and extra visual appeal. She shows us how to use multiple strands of color wire to give a design a real vibrance. To make the piece even more unique, she also adds exposed wire segments - like an illusion necklace would have. Don't be afraid to expose your beading wire. And make sure you are using exciting colors in your design. The wire is a design element and will enhance your jewelry.
Part Two - Handmade Jewelry Bails with Craft Wire and Beading Wire
In the second video, Joyce shows us how to make a DIY bail using both Soft Flex Craft Wire and Beading Wire. Adding your own handmade components is a great way to make signature jewelry. Nobody will be wearing the designs you make. Handmade elements are also great for designers that sell their jewelry. You can be sure your customers are going to love an artisan necklace with one-of-a-kind finding.
