Oversized Pearl Trend: How To Make Bold Jewelry Using 16mm Shell Pearl Beads
Kristen Fagan created several pairs of bold earrings and a necklace using oversized pearl beads. Large 16mm dark teal and gunmetal Shell Pearl Beads can be a fun and stylish accessory. She also used Delica Seed Beads, .019 Soft Flex Beading Wire and 20ga & 22ga Soft Flex Craft Wire.
Shell pearls, also known as imitation pearls, are man-made pearls that are crafted using materials derived from shells, such as oyster shells or mother-of-pearl. Unlike natural pearls, which are formed organically inside mollusks, shell pearls are created through a man-made process.
One advantage of shell pearls is that their production allows for greater control over size, shape, and color, making them more versatile for use in jewelry and accessories. Additionally, because they are man-made, shell pearls are often more durable and resistant to damage than natural pearls, which can be delicate and prone to scratching or chipping.
Overall, shell pearls provide a beautiful and affordable option for adding the elegance of pearls to jewelry designs.
